OsiriX Viewer of Medical Images

OsiriX offers an open source viewer for image formats often used by medical personnel. The software publisher says that radiologists and researchers are his biggest users. The screen snapshot page shows some of the amazing images that can be obtained by the technology out there. And users are even copying at least some of these formats to Apple's iPod as a portable viewer. Apparently, the scroll wheel on the Apple - iPod photo can be used to rotate the image (assuming it's rotatable).
This kind of viewer is available on Unix (probably Windows?) systems but runs c. $5k for each installed package (compared to free for OsiriX). But it was the use of the iPod photo for portable viewing that I found most interesting.
