When my paternal grandparents married shortly after World War I, they moved into a large country house on a hill in Southern Mississippi with my grandmother's parents. There they raised my father and uncle and I spent many childhood days crawling under, around and in it. My father figures the house was built in the 1850s -- the Illinois Central Railroad came through town about that time and not much was built in the area during the Civil War and Reconstruction. 1850s Southern Country House

Richard: Please e-mail me any other photos you have of the house. I am so regretful that I did not go with ya'll on what appeared to be such a joyful day. Thank you so much for posting this.
Love--Debbie
