Anne and I bid farewell at about 6:30 this morning at the airport. She put us at ease with text messages on each of her two stops and upon arrival. Ben and Mary Beth took her out to eat in downtown Portland before heading their apartment. Julia begins student orientation on Thursday and classes on Monday morning. Though she got a sizable grant she'll also work on campus (work-study) as she takes her full time class load. So, while we'll be lonelier around the house for the next 9 months, she'll have a great challenge and opportunity ahead of her.

Wow, I didn't know Julia went to GFU. Way to go! As a fellow alum, I highly support her decision to attend!
