The hotel for the Elsinore Valley Friends Church Men's Retreat is right on the Pacific ocean which is just out of range of the left side of this photo.
On Saturday afternoon, we drove further south to the port town of Ensenata. The 40 mile drive was on a 4 lane highway that ran along the cliffs above the Pacific. The treeless hills and mountains are covered with low brush, green this time of year due to the rains. Green hills, partly cloudy blue skies, a blue and turquoise sea with white breakers--it was soul food.
Speaking of which, we ate well. Lobster, fish and shrimp tacos (more like fajitas) are the deserved favorite menu items.
