I've started using iPhoto on a Mac to manage my digital photos. While you can buy something that works better (or use an unregistered shareware package), it comes free on all Macs. Even the old version I have (v. 2 of 5) is quite capable for casual use. It has the ability to export photos to a web page showing thumbnails of all the exported shots. You can then click on the thumbnails in a web browser to see full-sized images. Upload this export collection to a personal web space and others can link to and view the collection. That's what I did with my Kodak snapshots of Mary Beth's wedding above (MB Wedding).
I used the Flickr.com service for almost all images that appear in this blog, hosted by Blogger.com (which just recently purchasd Flickr). I uploaded my images to the Flickr site with Flickr uploader and then wrote and posted my blog entry from Flickr. I can also use iPhoto to upload to Flickr. And now that Blogger.com owns Flickr, I can upload photos directly from the web window on the Blogger.com site using a supported browser (in my case, Firefox for Mac OS 10.3 Panther).
