23rd Birthday

Yesterday was Becky's 23rd birthday.
Most interesting present? One from her sister Julia - a gift card to Barnes & Noble bookstores! Add to that, Becky purchased a member card at B&N for 40% off of new book purchases. Why does a book purchase earn the Most Interesting Award? Because reading is the kind of behavior we would have never predicted for Becky. In fact, we sometimes ask, "Who are you and what have you done with our daughter?"
It's fun to watch her life develop.

Sad note: also yesterday, she and I drove down to Galveston Island to retrieve her personal affects from her now totaled Camaro. She rear-ended an SUV in bumper to bumper traffic on the way to Julia's high school graduation on Sunday, June 1. While going only 15-20 MPH, she failed to see a sudden stopping of the car in front of her. The collision completely scrambled the front end of her car, half-way into the engine compartment.
